Places to discover: SOCKSARGEN Photo Safari 2014

General Santos - the hometown of Manny Pacquiao is nothing short of marvelous. An adventure destination, where you can go to white beach of Isla Jardin del Mar in Saranggani Highlands, caving, hiking, camping and stargazing. You also get to experience a one of a kind food venture, at the Tiongson Arcade, which makes an amazing 'chicharong' tilapia and also devour crabs at Gusteaus. Hotel of choice is the 4 star Green Leaf Hotel.

September is the best time to visit GENSAN, as it is the month that people come just in time for the Tuna Festival. While there, a side trip to Lake Sebu, home of the majestic falls, rivers and lakes. Enjoy the thrilling zip line, which is considered as the highest in Southeast Asia. Discover also dream weavers of T'nalak, and glorious food at Monte Cielo. A resort up in the mountain, accessible by car, and be entertained by Tiboli dancers

Photos below are series of events during Mandy Navasero's SOCKSARGEN Photo Safari July 18-21, 2014.

What GENSAN is proudly known for, is its Fresh Tuna which are hauled in daily at the fish port.   Strong men haul in huge tuna fish from boats, where fishes are also weighed in and graded by quality.

Photos below is at the Isla Jardin with participants of the photo tour.
